Travel Guide: Havana

Just a short flight over from Miami is a country that is rich in culture and full of life. Vibrant, good vibes were felt all around as I explored Havana. The people were not only welcoming, but were so helpful and patience as we tried our best to communicate. Those four years of Spanish class in high school only got me by when it came to asking for where the bathroom was and to ensure that no cheese was included in my pasta. Hah.

This was a blogger trip, hosted by Acanela, so this travel guide may seem a bit skimpy as we did not get to truly explore Havana as how I typically travel. Therefore, I encourage you to take these ideas and add them onto whatever research you’ve already done.

Heart Full from Havana: My Raw Thoughts & Unfiltered Shots

I had little to no expectations of Cuba, as I didn’t want to think of Cuba based off of other’s perceptions. I landed in a humid and hot country after a very uncomfortable overnight flight, but my mood was quickly lifted as I saw a driver waving a sign with mine and Layla’s name on it. He didn’t speak any English and Layla spoke a limited amount, so between the two of them, we figured out what our next steps were. He guided us to the currency exchange window before loading our things into his car.

Known mainly for their shopping and street food, Myeongdong is always alive with tourist and locals roaming the streets in search of a good time. Plan a Girls Trip to Ojai

Ojai is located about 83 miles from LA, roughly an hour and half drive. It’s an easy drive and from my place (in San Gabriel), the 210 is the freeway you take most of the way, which allows you to avoid a good amount of traffic. For the last 20 minutes of the drive, you get some breathtaking views as you wind up the mountainside. Just be on the lookout for bikers.

Travel Guide: Los Alamos

It’s a small town about 20 minutes away from Solvang, and one that I debated on sharing because it’s such a peaceful gem. The people in this town are humble, kind, and friendly. They live a happy life, a simple one, and truth be told, there isn’t too much to do when you’re there but it’s not meant to be a crazy weekend out of town anyways.

Travel Guide: La Paz

Just 90 minutes outside of Cabo is a town that is such a hidden gem that I’m reluctant to really share it. However, to keep it to myself would be a shame as La Paz is a place that everyone should experience at least once. While Cabo is known for large resorts and a lively night scene, La Paz is the complete opposite and is best for those who want a real adventure.

Travel Guide: Kauai

Kauai is the 4th largest island and is often called the Garden Island. Known for its beautiful rainforests, the Napali coast, Waimea Canyon, and 111 miles of coastline, Kauai has more accessible beaches than any of the other Hawaiian Islands. There are 8 major waterfalls on the island with Waipoo in Waimea Canyon being the highest, falling at 800 feet. If you’re looking for a place to disconnect, explore and spend the majority of the time outdoors, than look no further because Kauai is it.

6 Things to Do in Barcelona

Our final destination with FinnAir was Spain, specifically Sitges and Barcelona. We spent a night in Sitges and two nights in Barcelona, leaving us extremely sad to leave so soon, as we all fell in love with the country. What’s there not to love honestly? Beautiful beach views, gorgeous architecture, the best paella, plenty of shopping centers, fresh coffee, and so much more. In fact, I’m surprised at how much we were able to do in two nights and complied a list of recommended activities for your next stay in Barcelona.

7 Things You Must Do on Catalina Island

Catalina Island is often underrated and misunderstood, but even after 3 trips, I still find that there's always something new to do.

Less than an hour away and with ports in Long Beach, San Pedro, and Dana Point, there really isn't a better way to getaway last minute than to the island. Did I mention that Catalina Express is also comfortable, spacious, and sails so smoothly that I fell asleep both ways? True story.
