Setting the vibe for each room in your home is one of the key elements to making a space feel comfortable and cozy. It doesn’t matter how big or small your place is, as these scents work with for any square footage.

Scents can wake you up, inspire you, make you sleepy, or ease your nerves. With so many of them, it can be overwhelming to figure out which one works best for you. My preference in scents has certainly changed throughout the years and what I love now will probably change in a year or so too. However, I figure I share what my favorites are now, in case anyone is looking to refresh their scents during this Springtime quarantine.

Bedroom

AM - I love waking up, opening up the blinds & windows, making my bed, and then spritzing Clean Beauty Collective’s fresh linens linen & room spray. It’s a relaxing scent that refreshes your sheets and your room for the day. It’s also gluten-free, cruelty-free, and created without parabens, dyes, or phthalates. For days that I really need to wake up, I spray a few spritzes of Vitruvi’s wake mist. It's a blend of 100% pure Rosemary, Juniper, Eucalyptus, Bergamot, and Black Pepper essential oils. It’s also travel friendly too.

PM - I usually will turn on my Vitruvi diffuser a half hour before bed and diffuse the Grove blend. Grove is woodsy, featuring notes of fir, spruce, pine, and cedarwood. For someone who prefers the beach over camping, I am quite surprised that I love having this scent on before bedtime and sometimes throughout the night. At least twice a week, I’ll also spray my Osea x Parachute rest linen mist right before I jump into bed (specifically on my pillow) to help me sleep. The mist features hints of lavender, geranium, peppermint, sage, and essential oils. It is also free from any toxic, synthetic ingredients.

Home Office

Aside from having my favorite tunes playing and natural light seeping through my home office, another key component I have to have is my Vitruvi diffuser. I love mixing Vitruvi’s peppermint, grapefruit, and rosemary together to create a blend that really wakes me up. Alternatively, their floral bundle is also great to work with, especially if you’re lacking some fresh flowers in the office.

I also keep the Vitruvi' focus roll-on nearby, in case I really need to be productive. It's a blend of 100% pure Petitgrain, Rosemary, Frankincense, Clove Bud, Lemongrass, Basil, and Peppermint essential oils.

Kitchen

Anyone else cooking from home more? Whether I’m washing dishes, organizing the pantry (because I have time now), or putting together a meal, I usually will have my Vitruvi diffuser diffusing Boost. If you’re wondering how many diffusers I have, it’s four. I have one for every room in our apartment except for the bathroom, hah.

Boost features notes of citrus and just reminds me of summer. I just love that smell while I’m cooking or cleaning around the kitchen for some reason. Maybe because it’s fresh and warm, and just makes me happy overall, which is similar to how I feel about being in the kitchen. I mean, snacks and coffee always make me happy and they’re located in the kitchen :)

Living Room

Now, I do have a diffuser in the living room and I typically will change up the blends there between retreat, bergamot, and eucalyptus throughout the day. I always start my mornings with an incense though, mostly because I grew up on that smell and I like lighting one up right before grabbing my cup of coffee.

However, on most evenings, I tend to lean towards candles to create a cozier mood. Laying on the couch with pillows, a throw blanket, and lighting an Appointed Co’s candle just sets a vibe.

Bathroom

Okay, so there’s a range of sprays we use for the bathroom, ranging from Glade air freshener sprays to Air Wick’s plugin air freshener. All generic stuff you can find on Amazon or Target. The one thing that I do like to add to this collection is the Clean Beauty Collective’s reed diffuser, particularly in the rain scent. Just set it on top of the toilet or by the sink and let it do its thing.

I think I covered all the major rooms, except for the dining room, which I have an Air Wick plugin there but nothing else. Hopefully, this gets you curious about trying out some new scents and maybe a new diffuser? Everyone’s different so my choices may not be what you like, but it’s a starting point and all the brands mentioned are brands I love and support, so be sure to check them out!
