If I had to describe our experience at Tomoko Spa in one word, it would be bliss. Pure bliss. I do not think I have ever had a more peaceful and relaxed spa day than at Tomoko Spa.

Located right in Beverly Hills (on Beverly Drive) is a place where you can leave all your worries behind for at least two-hours. This Japanese Spa is the perfect place to getaway from the crazy traffic, hustle and bustle of LA, and your crazy boss. It really is a haven that everyone needs to experience at least once.

However, it is a luxury experience so it isn’t exactly an affordable weekly experience for most people. I purposely saved this visit for KSOLE’s birthday, as the Japanese experience is pretty pricey but totally worth it (in my opinion).

THE JAPANESE EXPERIENCE – Couples Treatment

Our most indulgent and deeply satisfying experience, starts with The Ashiyu, Detox Foot Massage to calm the tension of your feet and body, then your therapist will guide you through our signature “Tomoko Massage.” Once your body is fully at ease, we invite you to further unwind in your Ofuro (Japanese natural Hinoki bath). The whole experience culminates in a decadent en suite sushi meal for two. This treatment includes the following: Private suite with private shower and tub, sushi, organic teas and Japanese sweet delicacies.

We were quickly greeted upon entering the spa and asked to exchange our shoes for traditional Japanese Geta sandals. Our belongings were then taken to our room for us as we filled out a welcome form, listing our desired pressure and focus areas, while enjoying a welcome tea and snack. Afterwards, we were escorted to our suite and given time to change into kimonos.

Tea was provided again as we enjoyed a 15-minute detox foot soak, which was much needed for me! We then enjoyed a two-hour massage before being left alone for a 30-minute Japanese Ofuro bath experience. It was quite romantic and very relaxing. We rinsed off in the provided shower and changed back into our kimonos for sushi and Japanese desserts. We had more than enough time to really enjoy our meal before returning to our civilian clothes (hah).

Prior to leaving the spa, we were given more delicious tea and they gifted KSOLE with a pair of Japanese chopsticks. Super sweet gesture and such a great surprise.

I believe we spent about 4 hours at Tomoko Spa and it took awhile for me to adjust back into the real world after we left. I would highly suggest to not schedule anything major or do any heavy activities afterwards. You really won’t be in the mood and why would you want to ruin the relaxed state you’re in right?

The entire experience was absolutely amazing and KSOLE loved it. It’s the best gift for any occasion — anniversaries, birthdays, that big promotion, pregnancy, etc. They really do take care of you and this was a big treat for us since we had to cancel our Tokyo trip earlier this year. At least we got a little piece of Japan right here in Beverly Hills that we can access!

Highly recommend it and cannot wait to go back — maybe in a few months after I save up though, haha.
