Imagine an island oasis where bright blue skies, a shimmering golden sand beach and an abundance of tropical blooms create a lush vibrant retreat for all. Fairmont Kea Lani is this very special place, and we look forward to welcoming you with aloha to our oceanfront paradise. Experience the Hawaii vacation of your dreams on Maui's coveted Wailea coast at our all-suite and villa luxury resort and spa

- Fairmont Kea Lani

When I’m feeling stressed and want to get away, the first place I typically opt for is Hawaii. Being from LA, it’s not an easy flight over to the islands but picking which one is . usually the hardest part. This trip, we picked Maui, for the vibes, the food, and for the Fairmont Kea Lani. It was the best decision we made for our last trip of the year.

The Property

Located in Wailea, the side of the island that gets a great sunset view, Fairmont Kea Lani is a family-friendly resort with activities for everyone. The first thing I immediately noticed when we arrived was the architecture. Beautifully designed with calm colors that meshed perfectly with the ocean views. Beach access is available but there are also three swimming pools you can choose from, one which has a basketball hoop and a 140-foot water slide.

For those who want to do a little work during their stay, there is a 24-hour fitness center with brand new machines/equipment. For the kids, there is a Kids Club and for parents who want some R&R, there is a spa, Championship golf and tennis located just minutes from the resort. Needless to say, there’s something to do during your stay or you can just lounge around.

The Room

With luxurious one and two-bedroom suites that are extremely spacious and villas by the sea, that are perfect for families and large groups, the room options alone are a damn good reason for why you should stay here. We stayed in an ocean view one-bedroom suite, which featured a separate living room and king-sized bed. The bathroom had a beautiful marble tub, shower, and two sinks. The foyer had a microwave and mini-fridge, which was perfect for all the snacks we bought from one of the local bakeries. There were three closets, so basically his and hers, and guest/coat closet by the door. If only I had that option at home too, hah. We slept comfortably with black-out curtains and spent our mornings on the large balcony. I loved every moment we spent in the room and it truly felt like home.

The Food

We had brunch at Kea Lani restaurant each morning, choosing between the breakfast buffet and menu options. The buffet featured an array of delicious options from regular breakfast food to poke, fresh island fruits, and desserts. The juices and smoothies were so good! For dinner, we tried Kō, their fine dining option that we heard so much about. The menu featured options that were inspired by Hawaiian, Chinese, Filipino, Portuguese, Korean, and Japanese cuisines. We tried a bit of everything but loved their lobster tempura and Kobe beef dishes. Highly recommend dining here during your stay.

We did spend a good amount of time exploring Maui’s local restaurants as well so here’s a list of our favorite spots:

  • Foodland (the poke here is so good and decently priced)

  • Maui Bread Company: the lilikoi mochi bread was our favorite and we brought back some for our friends ( they loved it too)

  • Maui Gelato & Waffles: the shaved ice here is good

  • Hawaiian . Moons Natural Food: grabbed juice and salad from here

  • Akamai Coffee: their gingerbread latte was delicious and they have the cutest decor

  • Mama’s Fish House: everything here is good!!

  • Thai Me Up (food truck): portions are huge so I recommend sharing

Maui is always a good idea and the Fairmont Kea Lani ensures that you have the best stay possible. I love their customer service, they have a texting concierge which was amazing. Their poolside cabana service was also a favorite of ours, it comes with a cooler of drinks of your choice. The views are unforgettable and overall, we had a great stay. Cannot wait until we return!
