My Matron of Honor Proposal

I knew who I wanted to be my Matron of Honor years ago so the minute our engagement happened, I started planning my proposal to my best friend, Shoshanna.

FYI - I actually learned the difference between Maid of Honor and Matron of Honor during my research for proposal gift ideas (LOL). So if you don’t know the difference like I did, here you go —

"A maid of honor is unmarried, while a matron of honor has already had a wedding of their own. Their roles are the same; the difference is purely in semantics." (source: Brides)

Shoshanna and I have been friends since 2009. We met through mutual friends and she’s been my ride & die since day one. We worked together for a bit, have survived college days and all the parties throughout those years, endless birthday celebrations, been there for one another through deaths and really bad times, and I cannot see my future without her. Best of all, both our guys get along great too. So of course, I need her by my side as I plan this out.

Since I had a week to get this gift together (as I was seeing her for my first round of wedding dress shopping), I went on Etsy and filtered out businesses that would ship items within 1-2 days. From there, I found a few things that I knew she’d like including this MOH sweater and a little proposal box that included candles, the perfect card, and matches. I opted to not include the extras that the business offers for this box, and instead, created a basket of her favorite things.

Shoshanna is about repurposing, self-care moments, snacks, and brands that are sustainable & clean so in her basket were:

Needless to say, she said YES, and I am so thrilled to have her by my side.

Also, I should mention that KSOLE and I are opting OUT of having a full court. No other bridesmaids or groomsmen will be a part of our wedding day. KSOLE will have a best man by his side, but who it is, will be revealed later. Stay tuned!
