We Shot Our Own Engagement Photos!

What do you get when you put 2 photographers together in a relationship? A creative couple that trusted their tripod to capture their engagement photos during their engagement moon in Montreal. How do you think the tripod did?

To be completely transparent, we actually had a friend in mind to shoot us during our engagement moon, but that ended up not working out due to scheduling conflicts. Instead of changing our photoshoot, we decided to trust our tripod to do the honors instead and we have absolutely no regrets.

We did, however, change our entire look for the shoot. Going from a dreamy landscape to more of a city vibe with Old Montreal as our backdrop. We got rid of the babydoll dress and suit and went for what felt more comfortable and authentic to us. Both our outfits are from Oak + Fort, a Korean-owned brand that’s actually based in Vancouver, Canada.

The area we chose to shoot in was around the corner from our hotel, which made it within walking distance. At 7 AM on a Saturday morning, the streets were empty and we got to truly take our time shooting.

We love how the photos turned out and hope you do as well!

P.S. We chose our favorite shot and sent it off to our dear friend in Australia, who is an illustrator, to have our wedding invitations drawn/created. Check back in mid-July for the finished invitations! We cannot wait to show you.
