From Day to Night with Grana

Beep. Beep. Beep.

Beep. Beep. Beep.

"Ugh, crap." She groaned as she turned over to hit the snooze button one more time. She sighed heavily as she opened her eyes. Sunlight was peeking through the blinds, casting a moody shadow in the corner of her room. She stared at it for a few more seconds before picking up her phone to snap a photo of it.
"There, moody lighting shot for the gram. Now time to post and get my ass up," she said to herself.

After posting the photo on her Instagram, she tossed her covers to the side and slipped on her favorite black laced satin robe. She looked up at the clock, 10:15AM.

"Maybe I should just sleep in for another hour or so. I really don't have that much to do today," she said to Lucy, her 5-year old black and white cat, who couldn't care less. She petted Lucy and slipped back under the covers, throwing her robe to the side. "Just one more hour," she said as she slowly dozed off.

Loud knocking on the door.

"OMG, wake up! Open the door!"

*Knocking continues*

Startled, she woke up to someone to someone yelling right outside her door, along with loud knocking. She got up, grabbed her robe and slippers, and proceeded to open the door.

"What the fuck?" she said, realizing that it was her best friend who was making all the racket.

"Uhm, did you forget? We're supposed to drive through the Road to Hana today. Get dressed, let's go! I already have our snacks and water." Bev said, as she plops down on her couch.

Ten minutes later, the two of them head out for an all-day adventure on the island.

"Pull over here! Let's hike down to that waterfall and get Instagram worthy shots," Bev said, pointing down towards the rocks. She pulled the car over, grabbed her bag, and the two proceeded to climb down the side of the hill. Oh the things you do for a photo these days.

"Dude, I'm starving. Are we almost back yet?" Bev groaned.

"Just another 30 minutes I think?" she replied as she checked her phone. "Wait, crap. Traffic," she sighed.

"Well, let's just pull over here. I mean, it is a beach right?" Bev pointed.

She obliged, made a quick left, and parked their Volvo right on the sand. The two jumped out, stripped off their shorts and crop tops, and jumped into the ocean.

This is pure bliss, splashing around as the sun started to set, and just enjoying life, she thought, as she floated on her back, staring straight up at the golden sky.
