Life After Bleaching: A Hair Story

This post is dedicated to all my hair enthusiasts out there who love dying their hair as much as I do.

It was a hot summer afternoon in LA and I had agreed to make a drastic change which involved bleaching my hair. For years I've dreamt of being a blonde and it was finally the right time to do it. I had several sessions to get to my desired color, attempting to go the safest route for my hair but the end result is inevitable, damage will occur and it did.

Despite the breakage, I was still a little slow when it came to purchasing products that would help my hair. I had a deep conditioner and shampoo for colored treated hair, but as time went on, my hair kept getting worse. To the extent that anyone who looked at my hair can tell how dry it is, talk about embarrassing!

After months of testing out different products, I finally can say that I'm starting to see results and surprisingly, it is from a brand that I've used when I was a teenager. Pantene's Pro-V Repair & Protect Miracle Repairing shampoo, conditioner, and Pantene Pro-V Airspray Flexible Hold hairspray have been my go-to's lately. Not only does the collection focus on repairing six months of damage in one use, it also helps reduce hair friction and tangles. It is a hydrating shampoo that's a perfect damaged hair treatment and will leave your hair shining from the inside out. For a great finish, I use the flexible hold hairspray, which doesn't leave my hair stiff or flaky.

I had my fun being blonde for the summer, but I'm ready for my 29th birthday in January and growing up means taking better care of my hair. With my recent return to the dark side, I will be giving my hair a huge and much needed break as it recovers from the damage I've done.
