Cherokee Lodge

There's always time for an overnight stay in your favorite city. Can you guess where I love to drive away to?

A brief escape to one of my favorite parts of San Diego - Coronado. My sister and I stayed overnight at Cherokee Lodge, a bed and breakfast inn located in Coronado. Locatd a block from downtown Coronado, this charming vintage comfort is the best escape for a quiet getaway.

We arrived a little past 6PM, in which the front door locks after 3PM. Upon arrival, our keys were tucked away in an envelope by the door which listed directions to our room. We had a gorgeous room with a private bathroom in the corner of the lodge. Note: some rooms do share a hallway bathroom but I opted for a private (which I highly suggest!)

Ice machine, microwave, and free laundry are located in a common access area. A mini fridge was provided inside our room. Free WiFi is also available and I took full advantage of the closet in our room. While there isn't a heater located inside our room, I will have to say that we were both warm enough for the night with the bedding provided. I would suggest layering up at night though.

Since our arrival was late, most of the shops around the area were already closed minus a bar and a few food spots. We decided upon a local pizza spot across the street, thanks to Yelp. We kicked back with a movie on TV and slept pretty early as I had went out the night before so, I was tired.

We checked out early the next morning, prior to the 11AM allowance. Although breakfast vouchers were given to us upon check-in, for Panera (around the corner), we opted to try a local coffee shop instead.

Clayton's is a cute diner that serves your favorite breakfast items. I stuck to the basics with 2-eggs, sausage, potatoes, and toast. Certainly a good meal and the service was amazing.

I had a great overnight stay in Coronado and can't wait to be back. Thank you Cherokee Lodge for the hospitality!
