Bella Julia Bakery & Cafe
Food is one of the greatest ways to join people together. You don't need a reason to get something to eat, other than the fact that you're hungry. Food has always been an unique way to express yourself and the things you love. The best part is seeing the passion people have behind their food and the inspiration they had upon creating a dish.
KSOLE and I had the opportunity to dine at Bell Julia Bakery and Cafe the other night. Located on 6363 Yucca Street in Los Angeles, this joint is filled with a ton of love. This restaurant is a dream child of chef and owner, Chaza Smith. I honestly never met a woman with such a sweet and modest soul. The way she explains her creations is magnificent, providing details of her own cooking experiences and travels through Italy. Her husband and child are equally as amazing and I'm super jealous of their daughter's eyelashes and hair! So adorable!
Back to the food - the menu is inspired by season ingredients that are sustainably grown and non-GMO. From appetizers to dessert, there was not a single thing that we did not love.
So what did we eat?
- Eggplant Parmigianino
- Basket of home-baked bread
- Linguine Bolognese
- Spaghetti al Limone
- Pulled pork special
- Chocolate peanut butter cookie
- Cream cake
As usual, our eyes were bigger than our stomach. We did end up taking home our leftovers and the chef was kind enough to provide us with instructions on how to reheat the food. In all the restaurants I've dined in, that has never happened, but that just shows you how much she truly cares about her food.
Thank you so much for the hospitality and the delicious food Bella Julia! Your staff is attentive, hilarious, and just as caring as the owners so do you really need any other reason to visit?
