OOTD: A State of Isolation

It's Friday, which means another week is ending and the weekend is here! I had my first quiz in my development psychology course this week and spent a good amount of time locked up in my apartment, studying. With the exception of my Monday cardio hip hop class, which by the way, is amazing! If you're in the LA area, specifically near Glendale, please come join me (for free) at the Back to Basics studio at 8PM. It's an hour long of cardio and hip hop dance moves that will certainly make you sweat, but in a good way (unlike this horrible heat wave). Simply sign up here, selecting the instructor Megumi Marie for Sept 22nd at 8PM. Trust me, you don't want to miss it and it's free! Hope to see you there!

But getting back to my week of isolation - I often enjoy these moments where I can relax with my hair up, no make-up, glasses and of course, the air conditioner on blast. Being able to relax alone is refreshing and required if you have are constantly busy. It's a good way to unwind, reflect and plan ahead. I encourage everyone to do it at least a couple hours per week. You'll feel the difference!

So since I wasn't up for roaming around in the heat and needed to stay near by, KSOLE and I decided to utilize the room and play with a few different angles. This is the end result :) What do you think?

The striped crop top is from DrJays.com, a versatile piece that matches literally everything. I love that you can take it from day to night with a simple change of the bottoms. Basic pieces like this is a must-have and can be used for layering, which is essential for fall.

To add some edge to the look, I paired the top with distressed black denim shorts from Hot Miami Styles. Love the fit of these high-waisted bottoms! It also is sturdy as I've washed them a few times and none of the studs have fallen off.

The dark lip and beanie is a must for fall. I love beanies and this one from Petals and Peacocks is a favorite. "No New Friends" of course is an infamous phrase from Drake's song, but it speaks a whole lot of truth. Finished the look with my comfortable ankle booties from Forever 21.

Hope everyone stays cool this weekend and hydrated! If you're going to the LA Feline Film Festival Sunday, I'll see you there!
