The last time I changed up my sheets was in July and I was very into the neutrals then. With it already being March, and summer is around the corner (although in LA, it’s basically always summer), I wanted to give my place a little warmth. While the tones have changed, the brand remains the same — my love for Parachute sheets will never die.

The best part about this little refresh was that I got to share the love for this new Terra color that Parachute introduced with my dear friend, Wesley Taylor. We figured it’ll be fun to do a style challenge with our bedrooms with this particular sheet set, a little LA versus Chicago challenge. So what’s your pick guys — do you like my boho-inspired look (above) or Wesley’s ——-.

Here’s a little more on each of our perspectives when working with the Terra linen duvet cover set.

What attracted you to this color?

(Lisa): I love Terracota in general and have a diffuser from Vitruvi in this same color. There’s just something fun about the shade and while it’s bold, it’s not too much either. I’ve actually been wanting this exact color for my bedsheets for months and am so happy Parachute released it!

(Wesley): All my current duvet colors are either white or super dark, so I thought it would be cool to have an option that's more a marriage of the two--Terra adds color but in a warmer and brighter way than Coal or Indigo.

Describe your home vibe.

(L): Cozy and comfy with a mix of greens for a tropical sense because I love vacationing in Hawaii, the Cook Islands, any island really. I love that it feels like home, I am so calm and peaceful within my space. Everything has a purpose, as I hate clutter and my space is small, so what I have is here for a reason.

(W): My home vibe is full-on cozy! I like warmer light, colors, and textures. I have candles everywhere and pack my corners full of plants, knick-knacks, and pieces that have heavy artistic value but are still functional!

Were there any challenges or worries about working with this specific color? If so, what?

(L): I honestly thought the color would clash with my oak bed frame, that it may blend together too much but it worked out in the end.

(W): Since warmth is already a priority for me, I had to flip the script and accessorize differently on top of Terra. I paired it with the Linen Striped Quilt & pillowcases for some brightness, a couple of plants for texture, and a dark velvet accent pillow instead of my typical brown leather one.

Is there any styling touches in your place that reflects LA/Chicago?

(L): My crystals, sage, Palo Santo, and tropical plants probably screams super LA (haha).

(W): My little flag that says "Chicago" is a new addition that shows some Chicago pride! But I'd say the biggest piece comes from the view outside my windows, especially when the train speeds by. As far as art and decor are concerned, I'm mostly inspired by my favorite artists, spaces, and places I've visited.
