Fairmont Royal York

To say that I got a fair chance in seeing Toronto would be a lie. I, unfortunately, caught the flu and was bedridden for 4 days straight while I was in the city. The upside to this was that I really got to enjoy all the benefits of the Fairmont Royal York, including their delicious homemade chicken noodle soup and their comfy king size bed.

The Fairmont Royal York is located in the center of Downtown Toronto, across the street from Union Station, and is nearby the CN Tower, Sony Centre for the Performing Arts, and most importantly, several boba spots (hah). While I didn’t get to personally see most of the big attractions, thanks to the flu, KSOLE was kind enough to wander and snap a few shots for me.

With recent renovations, the Fairmont Royal York’s elegance is alluring and welcoming. I absolutely love the charm of the hotel, in addition to the several options for dining. I took full advantage of room service while I was there, however, I was able to muster up enough energy for dinner at Benihana.

Canada’s only Benihana location is located downstairs in the Fairmont Royal York and has the best service. We enjoyed an array of fun, delicious dishes, and the server was kind enough to make me a special tea once he found out I was suffering from the flu. It was the sweetest gesture and I truly appreciate the care the staff showed us.

Aside from Benihana, there is also EPIC, Library Bar, Afternoon Tea every Saturday and Sunday, and Piper’s Gastropub. You really don’t need to leave the premises during your stay with all these options!

With the latest phase of their multi-million dollar revitalization plan, a total of 898 Luxury and Signature Rooms across 11 floors received latest business amenities, HDTVs, and larger sleeping areas. I loved the décor of our room, especially the natural lighting that seeped throughout the day, but what I loved, even more, were the blackout curtains. I need a set in my room as they truly help with your sleep.

The staff at the Fairmont Royal York was absolutely amazing, super attentive and remembered little details such as the fact that I’m lactose intolerant. So, whenever KSOLE ordered food for us, the in-room dining staff would note which items had dairy in it to avoid any mishaps. In addition, they also surprised me with chicken noodle soup once they heard I was sick and honestly, it was the best soup I ever had. All the food we had, in general, was great and I cannot thank the staff enough for being so considerate.

Despite having the flu, I had a wonderful time at the Fairmont Royal York. In all honesty, I think my body was trying to tell me to relax and there was no better place to do so than in Toronto. I definitely have to return back to the city to really experience all it has to offer, but when I do, you can bet that I’ll be at the Fairmont Royal York again.

Thank you to the Fairmont family for always taking the best care of us. We love you!
